With flowers around our neck, we set out on a new adventure. It was pretty rainy when we decide to not let it stop us from enjoying the island. I had already been driving the Hana Highway before, when it was sunny, and so I wondered why not doing it when it was rainy too. Cause it’s of course when it’s rainy that the rainforest and the waterfalls are at their best.
It was afternoon when we started the trip from Kihei towards Hana. We took our time since we were prepared to stay in Hana overnight. On our way, we made a stop in Paia, by a taco shop and by Black Sand Beach. Some places we also took a stop to gaze at the waterfalls and listen to the birds singing.
Because Duke had already been in Hana as well, a couple of years ago, he knew the fish tacos there was delicious. And so we made a stop, had fish tacos and met a super cute puppy. You have no idea how brown, big and sparkling eyes that puppy had! It definitely stole my heart, even more than the fish tacos did.
We were barely able to let go of the beautiful puppy.. But we did, and went further on to Black Sand Beach. Because I’d been there before, I didn’t see it necessary to take any photos. However, the visit was different than the first time I was there. Duke took me to a spot that was completely covered with trees. Years back, it was a place to dive. Not anymore, so we folded hands and took a walk in the incredibly unique landscape instead. And that was about it, before we drove to Hana and luckily got a place to stay.
